Started in a Bhubaneswar kitchen, not a factory

In 2019, our founder's mother packed four jars of navratna achar for her son moving to Bengaluru. Those jars never lasted a month — his flatmates finished them first, then asked where to buy more.

There was nowhere to buy more. Every jar on the shelf tasted of vinegar and refined oil. So we started making it the only way we knew: raw mango cut by hand, masala ground the same morning, jars left in the sun on the terrace.

Six years on, the recipe has not changed and neither has the batch size. Forty jars at a time, stirred by the same four hands.

How spicy is the Navratna Pickle?

It sits at a mild-to-medium 2 on 5. The dominant notes are sweet-tangy from jaggery, dates and raw mango, with warmth from mustard and a gentle chilli finish. Children and elders in most families enjoy it comfortably.

Are there really no preservatives?

Yes. The pickle is preserved traditionally using salt, mustard oil and the curing process rather than artificial preservatives.

Why is a handmade pickle priced higher than supermarket brands?

Small batches, hand-cut ingredients, fresh masala and traditional curing take considerably more time and labour than industrial production.

What if the jar leaks or breaks in transit?

Contact us with a photo of the damaged package and our team can help with the appropriate replacement process.

How long does one 350g jar last?

It depends on serving size and frequency. For many households, a 350g jar lasts several weeks when used as a regular accompaniment.

Do you deliver across India?

Yes, orders can be shipped across serviceable locations in India.

Is it suitable for vegetarians and Jain diets?

The product is vegetarian. Jain suitability should be confirmed against the specific ingredient list of the product.
